Andrea Joy Cook

A.J. Cook is a Canadian actor best known for her roles in the feature films The Virgin Suicides (1999) and Final Destination 2 (2003) and also for her performance in the character Jennifer "JJ" Jareau in the tv drama Criminal Minds. Cook's television credits include Dead Like Me, Tru Calling, Higher Ground, Bluemoon, PSI Factor, Goosebumps, Elvis Meets Nixon, In His Father's Shoes, Laser Hawk and the television movie Island Heat. She appeared in feature films Blood Suckers II, Final Destination II The House Next Door Out Cold Ripper The Virgin Suicides Kisses The Tinker. Cook was born in Whitby by her father Mike who is an educator as well as her mother Sandra who is a psychiatrist. She grew up along with three siblings: Angela, Nathan and Paul. She was brought up as one of the Mormon (or member) of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As a child she took dance classes, including ballet and jazz classes. She was a participant in numerous contests for dance, however it wasn't until attained the age of 17 before she decided to take up acting. The film Dirty Dancing starring Patrick Swayze was the catalyst for her becoming an actress. Cook tied the knot with her lover Nathan Andersen in August 2001. The couple got to know Nathan Andersen at Utah Valley University in Utah Valley University, where she studied an acting class. They have a son, Mekhai Allan Andersen, born on September 13, 2008.
